Draupnir users on version 2.5.0 and below MUST NOT upgrade to Matrix room version 12
The matrix foundation has issued a pre-disclosure for high severity security vulnerabilities relating to all current Matrix rooms versions (V11 and below) https://matrix.org/blog/2025/07/security-predisclosure/.
We will be working towards updating Draupnir within the next four weeks to allow it to participate within and protect these rooms, but it is unclear how quickly we can do this given specific team members are offline. A release could be made more quickly.
In the meantime we assess that the risk to rooms on V11 and below is low as the mechanisms involved have already been exploited and mitigated by the community before.
