Gnuxie's Work
The Draupnir Project
I lead Draupnir, an open-source community management platform that has been cited as a critical consideration in the decision for the communities of major FLOSS projects (including Fedora, Ubuntu, Arch, NixOS, and OpenSUSE) to call Matrix their home.
I started the Draupnir project and delivered development of essential moderation tooling for Matrix's open federation during a period where there was institutional disinterst in doing so. I set priorities through engaging with moderators and Matrix users, and introduced transparent planning and communication processes to make the project's direction and progress visible to all.
I led ambitious changes to Draupnir's architecture and user interface, taking responsibility for both their design and implementation. Later, with the demands of grant-funded development, I adopted incremental development practices. Which enabled the project to deliver improvements throughout complex long-running engineering work.
